113. On the road again

Rishikesh.  Where I rub shoulders with the wierd and the wonderful and pass my time sitting on my balcony and soaking in the peace of  Holy Mother Ganga and the mountains covered in beautiful deciduous forest.  So like Wales and so very, very different.

The last couple of days in McLoed were a blur of packing, walking the Kora, getting the last edition of Contact tied up and sorting gremlins in the website, hugs, partying and white scarves.  So many white scarves*, so many lovely people.  And just revelling in the place, in the mountains and the temples and the trees and the floweers - so many beautiful flowers, swathes of wild white roses everywhere, how can this place get even more beautiful?

And to cap it all, I saw the Dalai Lama as he left for Dalhousie, how auspicious can you get?  My last day and a wave from His Holiness!

*Tibetan people give you a white silk scarf as you leave to wish you well on your journey, its a lovely, simple  ceremony and you can stuff it in you pocket, it takes up no room
