103. Music!

Oh at last, some music!  And it was great!  Apparently the total dearth of live music is because of all the self immolations, which is understandable - you can't organise a gig with music and jolity only to find somebody has self immolated that day and it would be totally inappropriate.

But tonight they did a gig to fundraise for a memorial to the self-immolators and they did it so well. They had a massive banner with every person who has immolated on it, and the leader of the tibetan parliament there to give it a bit of gravitas, and the rock singers did acoustic sets and one guy prostrated before the banner before doing a brilliant new song which had everybody cheering.  The singing was great - everybody was good and some were just awesome.  There  is one guy who has the most amazing voice and now at least I know his name and have a hope of tracking him down, even if he doesn't do CDs.

Afterwards we went for a few beers and, typical McLeod, found ourselves high up on a terrace looking out over the huge space and view of the lights of lower Dharamsala way down below us, moon overhead, stars (ie every cliché you can think of to describe it, but, sorry, its all true), one of Tenzin's friends playing some music from his phone and we (yes, that's a "we" which means he and I - Polly, be proud!) sang along to some of his songs, english football songs would you believe!
